What is Costfluent, in one sentence?

Cloud cost management software for AWS, Azure and Google Cloud: cost reports and dashboards, allocation rules, budgets, cost insights, savings tracking, team access and scheduled report delivery. Kubernetes cluster costs are collected by an agent in the cluster.

How is this different from AWS Cost Explorer or Azure Cost Management?

Costfluent gives AWS, Azure and Google Cloud costs one workflow for allocation rules, budgets, insights, savings work, team access, and scheduled reporting. It complements the provider consoles rather than changing resources in your accounts.

Is this software or a service?

Software. You create an account, connect AWS, Azure or Google Cloud and work with your costs in the application.

Do we have to fix our tagging first?

No. Allocation rules match accounts or subscriptions, resource groups, resource names and tags, so tags are one input among several. Tag coverage shows how much of your spend carries the tags you rely on.

What access do you need?

Native cloud connections use read-only billing and cost-management permissions, without an agent in your cloud account. Kubernetes uses an agent in the cluster. Neither path changes workloads.

Can you see our data?

Costfluent processes billing and resource metadata needed for cost management. It does not request access to workload contents, databases, logs, application payloads, prompts, or completions.

Where is Costfluent hosted?

Costfluent's core application services and primary datastores are hosted in Germany, and encrypted backups are stored elsewhere in the EU. Edge traffic, email delivery and the cloud connectors use further providers, each named in the list of sub-processors.

What happens to our data if we stop?

You can export your cost data as CSV per workspace and your organization's configuration as JSON. When an organization is deleted, Costfluent erases its cost data, configuration and audit log from the live service. Encrypted backups expire after at most 365 days, and billing records are kept as long as tax and accounting law requires. The privacy policy sets out the details.

Do you have SOC 2 or ISO 27001?

No. Costfluent does not hold SOC 2 or ISO 27001 certification. The security page describes the controls in place, and we answer security questionnaires on request.

Is there a contract or minimum term?

Free is permanent and costs nothing. For a paid plan, the fee and the billing period are shown before you confirm the subscription, and the terms of service set the conditions.

Do you support Google Cloud?

Google Cloud: Available. The native connector reads the detailed billing export you share in BigQuery. The integrations page lists every source with its status.

Will you make changes in our cloud accounts to save money?

No. Cloud access is read-only, and changes stay with your team. The savings queue tracks each opportunity with an owner, from open through accepted to implemented or rejected. Curated recommendations and savings verification are planned.

What happens if Costfluent stops operating?

Your infrastructure keeps running unchanged. Cloud access is read-only, and the Kubernetes agent reads cluster usage without changing workloads, so you can uninstall it and revoke its access. Cost data can be exported as CSV from the product.

How should we assess Costfluent as a vendor?

Start with the concrete controls: read-only provider access, tenant isolation, and where data is hosted. The security page covers these, the list of sub-processors names every provider that processes customer data, and the contact page takes any question your review adds.
