What it is
What is Costfluent, in one sentence?
Cloud cost management software for AWS and Azure: cost reports, allocation rules, budgets and forecasts, cost insights, savings work, team access, and scheduled report delivery.
How is this different from AWS Cost Explorer or Azure Cost Management?
Costfluent gives AWS and Azure costs one workflow for allocation rules, budgets, insights, savings work, team access, and scheduled reporting. It complements the provider consoles rather than changing resources in your accounts.
Is this software or a service?
Software. You create an account, connect AWS or Azure, and work with your costs in the application. A call is optional.
Do we have to fix our tagging first?
No, and that is close to the whole point. Allocation runs on rules built from subscriptions, accounts, resource group names and naming conventions, with tags as one input among several. Companies that wait for a clean tagging estate wait forever.
Access and data
What access do you need?
Read-only billing and cost-management permissions for the AWS or Azure account you connect. Costfluent does not require an agent or permission to change your workloads.
Can you see our data?
Costfluent processes billing and resource metadata needed for cost management. It does not request access to workload contents, databases, logs, application payloads, prompts, or completions.
Where is it hosted?
Deployment-specific hosting and subprocessor details are supplied during security review once they have been verified against the live environment. The public trust page does not fill those gaps with assumptions.
What happens to our data if we stop?
Account closure, export, retention, and deletion are governed by the current product controls, privacy notice, and terms. Contact us if you need confirmation for a procurement review.
Commercial
What does it cost?
Free is 0 euros. Published paid tiers are Starter at 99 euros, Core at 390 euros, Optimize at 890 euros, and Scale from 1,690 euros per month, each with a stated spend band.
Is there a free tier?
Yes. Free is a permanent plan for up to 2,000 euros of monthly cloud spend, with 90 days of history, two connections, ten allocation rules, and three months of backfill.
Is there a contract or minimum term?
The pricing page publishes monthly plan prices. Paid upgrade and billing terms are presented only when the corresponding purchase path is available.
Do you have SOC 2 or ISO 27001?
No. We would rather say that plainly than imply otherwise. If your procurement requires either, tell us on the first call and we will tell you honestly whether it is worth continuing.
Limits
Do you support Google Cloud?
No native Google Cloud connector is available. AWS and Azure are the current native integrations; additional billing-file imports are labelled Planned.
Do you do Kubernetes cost allocation per pod?
No. Costfluent does not currently claim pod-level Kubernetes cost allocation.
Will you make changes in our cloud accounts to save money?
No. Cloud access is read-only. Savings items can be tracked in the product, while automated detection, curated recommendations, and savings verification are labelled Planned where applicable.
How many customers do you have?
Costfluent is early and does not publish an unsupported customer count. Product scope and planned capabilities are stated directly instead.
What happens to us if you stop?
Costfluent uses read-only cloud access and installs nothing in your workloads, so stopping the service does not alter production infrastructure. Available export and retention terms are documented in the product, privacy notice, and terms.
Why should we trust a one-person company with this?
Evaluate the concrete controls: read-only provider access, tenant isolation, explicit product limits, and a published trust page. Ask the founder directly about anything your review does not cover.
