What is read
The detailed usage cost export contains billing records and resource-level fields for the projects paid by a billing account. The connection reads that export, not application datasets.
Access you grant
Grant BigQuery Data Viewer on the export dataset to the service account Costfluent provides for your organization. No customer service-account key is exchanged; Costfluent runs queries in its own project.
How to connect
Prepare the detailed billing export in an EU or US multi-region dataset. Grant the displayed service-account email access, enter the billing account, project and dataset, then test the connection.
Limits and removal
Historical coverage depends on the rows retained in the export. A project alone is not the billing scope. The connector does not modify your workloads; removing the dataset grant revokes access.
